This week we had to sign up to StubbleUpon. I had never heard of this, but from what I have experience so far, it's a bit like scoopit; but better.
I created an account and added some of my interests and started to Stubble upon different website. I shared one on Twitter and also noticed that I could PinIt if I decide to use that option.
I think I will be digging into this site a bit more.
Glad I had a chance to learn all these new sites. I know I will be using some.
Thanks NB23.

Week 10 - Reflection
Reflection week:
What was my favourite Thing? -
Well, I would have to say that learning new stuff and knowing what people are talking about is great.
But from all the stuff, I would have to say that Twitter is my favourite. I don't tweet a lot, but I did put
some interesting accounts that I follow daily i.e. News, Moncton local, different publishers just to name a
few.
What was the most useful Thing?
As for the most useful, I would have say that the library ebook service because this is one that I have
been using for a while now. But without counting the ebook, Twitter again for me would be most useful
even though that Pinterest is very close to being useful.

What were you surprised to discover?
I was surprise to see how easy some tools are to use i.e. Multimedia, Image generator and Wordle
How will you use the Things in your work or personal life?
In my present position, I'm not sure where these tools would benefit me, but if I get another job dealing with
the public, then having used these tools will help me explain to the patrons what they are. As for my
personal life, just knowing what these tools can do, I can now experiment a little bit more.
How did you feel after completing the 23NB program?
I'm glad that I got a chance to learn these programs. I was lucky that I was given enough time to work on
them. Once at home, I would go back and revisit the programs, review what I had done and get more
familiar with the programs.
What did you learn about yourself?
I learned that I was able to learn new things. We had a good group of people that we could ask and I was
surprise that I was not the only one that had not used these tools before. I also found out that I was using
more than other co-workers.

Week 9 - APPS
I'm always a bit nervous when downloading an app on my tablet. I never know whether it's a safe program or not (even games). This probably has something to do with my generation.
At Christmas, I was given a tablet, therefore, I decided to download the app for ebooks. I followed the instructions given on the library website and in no time the Overdrive Media Console app was downloaded.
Since then, I've been downloading books regularly from the library and returning them once finished. I like the fact thaat if I forget to return it, it will be removed automatically. I have also downloaded books, reviewed them and released I didn't like it, therefore, returned them right away.
The only thing I needed to do for this session was to visit the BIBLIONB. I went to Google Play and downloaded BiblioNB and had no problem doing this.
I searched for new releases and added one book in my library account for later. I also refine the search by selecting "english" etc. I'm familiar with the vision website and now I have another tool to find new release or search by author.
Thank you NB23 for introducing me to new stuff.

Scoop.it!
23 Things this week was to join Scoop.it and to share a topic on twitter.
I've been using twitter now for a little over a month and now I know how the people share the items they find interesting.
Using Scoop.it allows us to be our own little publisher (in a way). Instead of printing out articles to read later, I can save the article to my Scoop.it page and go back to read it later.
If I find an article that I think would interest someone, then I can share it on Twitter.
Yes, I did it!!!

Derby Libraries - Arts and Crafts (short video)
Thing #17 - Find a video to watch that relates to libraries
I was able to transfer this video on my blog by doing "share" on the video.
Multimedia - Week 7
Multimedia; now this is something totally new for me. I've seen video on youtube, but only viewed the videos and never inserted it somewhere.
THING #16 – Embed a YouTube video in your blog
I decided to check out New York Library and found "Flyiing a drone around the NY Library". Since I've never been in New York, the next best thing to visit is by viewing little videos.
Thing #17 - Find a video to watch that relates to libraries
I checked the DIY Professional Development site and inquired on libraries. I found a short video showing Arts and Craft and the Debry Library. Basically this is a group of people who meets regularly to look at other's people work i.e. knitting, crochet or painting. This has now become a social group and have fun creating different types of art that they put on display.

Image, Part 2 - PINTEREST
Pinterest is a tool that I had once tried, but I didn't use it that much.
I created another account and started fresh.
I created a couple boards and will be adding more to it as I keep searching. I found a couple accounts to follow.
When I checked "What NYPL is Reading", I found that this is one that I would follow regularly.
I'm glad that we are asked to learn these tools. I'm learning and using some of them regularly i.e. Twitter and I know I will now use Pinterest more.
